* Bike light event last weekend of July (Tayeb) -- request that individuals bring/buy their own supplies, spend next weeks ensuring supplies available online (https://lab64.stanford.edu/bike-light-pov) -- reach out to DC Bike Party and/or other groups and add to Facebook, Twitter, Blabber (first step)
* The [https://lab64.stanford.edu/bike-light-pov Persistence of Vision (POV) Bike Light Project] event scheduled for the last weekend in July has been canceled due to a change in the schedule of the organizer, Tayeb, who is leaving the DC area. However, if anyone wants to take up the mantle, requisite steps outlined by Tayeb are:
** determine if parts and supplies are available online (See https://lab64.stanford.edu/bike-light-pov)
** reach out to DC Bike Party and/or other groups and add to Facebook, Twitter, Blabber, etc.
** ensure that participants bring/buy their own supplies beforehand
* '''Inventory Refinement''' - [[Inventory Refinement - Spring Cleaning 2022|Spring Cleaning 2022]] --
* '''Inventory Refinement''' - [[Inventory Refinement - Spring Cleaning 2022|Spring Cleaning 2022]] --
** "Retain, Redistribute, or Recycle?" survey - Email Google Forms to existing members with photos attached
** "Retain, Redistribute, or Recycle?" survey - a work-in-progress.
** Basement water issues - (1) coming in from outside (2) not draining inside, possible super-clog that appears that there isn't even a drain (3) water leaking from busted drain pipe along wall; top of wall there is opening with a tunnel (the tunnel is not part of our storage space, was offered to us at one point) -- request help from church maintenance to unclog drain, send email
** Basement water issues are not critical at this point.
* Mail in workroom - how can we help get things in order more? who should be picking it up? when should they be picking it up? -- .
* '''Mail in workroom''' - Matt and Michelle discussed regular mail pickup and have worked out a schedule between them. Tentatively, second and forth Monday pickup from the office, and drop at the space. John is also offering to check the mail once a week.
* 3D Printer Server -- Kevin working to set up 3D printer server after it broke, wiping machine, installed PopOS 22.04, now in the process of restoring the backed up user directories and putting back in printer related software and configuring. Likely one more day of effort to set this up -- need new filament and profile for Ultimaker 2
* 3D printers - The server is now up-to-date with installed software, but not yet configured to work with the printers currently in the space. Tayeb and Matt previously worked configuration settings that need to be incorporated into the server software. Kevin and Matt will schedule a meeting at the space to do that. Gabe and Bobby have expressed interest in being there for that as well. (Best to keep the gathering small, at this point.)
* DIY Bioplastics -- Michelle went to this event Sunday July 3, 2022 at Rockville Science Center, a big space with free food for events (sometimes); good cross-over for our members interested in biological industrial applications of tech
** Offer [https://octoprint.org/ OctoPrint] as the new default standard for printing, as it is friendlier to newcomers.
** Keep [https://github.com/kliment/Printrun Printrun] available for advanced users. And, because it has code contributions from HacDC members accepted into the official published code
** Bobby is offering to write new documentation...
** Matt recommends weather-proof containers, NinjaFlex, "dessicant powder" (moisture reducing), etc. He had an estimate of $300 (The Container Store, ...) and now has official approval to purchase.
* Matt brought filters and dropped them off in the space.

New Business

  • Mesh Networking Project - Michelle met with professor who also runs a "university makerspace" at Univ Maryland Baltimore County and partnered with Project Waves via NSF grant to put up mesh networking in low-income neighborhoods; would like similar partnership going for HacDC even if just an MVP that is funded; will talk with HAM Radio Club about more next week & any interested parties now
  • The Official Cyber Security Summit - on July 28, 2022; working with them promotionally to get free tickets plus donation (Gabe); will send emails Today and July 20, 2022 to our members
  • [email protected] email list - any BOD member who wants notifications of financials we can add you here
  • Financial & Mail Automation - working en tandem with Matt once a month to start tracking financials automatically in organized (and visualized format) for BOD in something like AirTable with Napier
  • Web Hosting Payment - Kevin will update on status of this
  • Machine Learning Classes (oo-oo-oo!) - Oby might have something to share here
